OF MILLIONS OF YOUNG SOUTH AFRICANS
CONTENT PIECES CREATED
In March 2020, South Africa entered its first national hard lockdown in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, young people were bombarded with misinformation while dealing with crippling financial and health challenges. We quickly realised that the youth of South Africa were in need of clear, concise, consistent and most importantly, credible information to support them during this period. So, the 3MILLION.3WEEKS initiative was born.
With the help of our partners we aimed to reach out to millions of young South Africans during the first 3 weeks of lockdown. As the initial lockdown period was extended and our 3MILLION reach target was achieved, the initiative evolved to extending our reach to 6MILLION – while focusing on moving from passive reach to active engagement.
Over the months following the national lockdown we impacted the lives of millions of young people – deeply and effectively – equipping them with the tools they needed to stay informed, to make smart choices and continue to be agents of change for their families and communities.

We invited organisations and businesses across South Africa to join this initiative and to be part of the solution. 267 took up the challenge and pledged themselves to supporting our youth during this time of crisis. Partners were given easy access to credible, engaging content that they used to reach out to young South Africans in their networks to keep them informed.
